(AP) ? Osama bin Laden lived in five safe houses while on the run in Pakistan and fathered four children ? two of them born in government hospitals, his youngest widow has told investigators.

The details of bin Laden's life as a fugitive in Pakistan are contained in the interrogation report of Amal Ahmed Abdel-Fatah al-Sada, bin Laden's 30-year-old Yemeni widow. They appear to raise fresh questions over how bin Laden was able to remain undetected for so long in Pakistan after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, despite being the subject of a massive international manhunt.

Details from the report were first published by the Pakistani newspaper Dawn.

The Associated Press obtained a copy on Friday.

Al-Sada is currently in Pakistani custody, along with bin Laden's two other wives and several children. They were arrested after the U.S raid that killed bin Laden in May in his final hideout in the Pakistani army town of Abbottabad. The U.S. Navy SEALs shot her in the leg during the operation.

Mohammed Amir Khalil, a lawyer for the three widows, said the women would be formally charged for illegally staying in Pakistan on April 2. That charge carries a maximum five-year prison sentence.

Since the raid that killed bin Laden, it has been known that he lived mostly in Pakistan since 2002.

Al-Sada's account says she flew to Pakistan in 2000 and traveled to Afghanistan where she married bin Laden before the Sept. 11 attacks.

After that, the family "scattered" and she traveled to Karachi in Pakistan. She later met up with bin Laden in Peshawar and then moved to the Swat Valley, where they lived in two houses. They moved one more time before settling in Abbottabad in 2005.

According to the report, al-Sada said that two of her children were born in government hospitals, but that she stayed only "two or three hours" in the clinics on both occasions. The charge sheet against the three women says that they gave officials fake identities.

During the manhunt for bin Laden, most U.S. and Pakistani officials said that bin Laden was likely living somewhere along the remote Afghanistan-Pakistan border, possibly in a cave.

The fact he was living in populated parts of Pakistan raised suspicions elements in the Pakistani security forces may have been hiding him. U.S. officials have said they have found no evidence this was the case.

Robinson, Withey giving Kansas big post presence

NEW ORLEANS (AP) ? Jeff Withey has had plenty of bloody noses. The big guy from Kansas has been whacked by flying elbows too many times to count. He's had bruises the size and color plums.

That's just what he's gotten courtesy of teammate Thomas Robinson.

The Jayhawks' inside tandem has pushed each other to get better all season, and all those rough-and-tumble practices are finally paying off. Robinson and Withey have Kansas in the Final Four, ready for Jared Sullinger and Ohio State on Saturday night.

"It's going to be a fun matchup. Throughout the year we've played against some really good big men," Robinson said Thursday. "It's definitely going to be a challenge."

Hardly bigger than the one they give each other in practice, though.

"At the beginning of the year, it was tough for me to get into the zone," Withey said, "but as we have been playing more I've been able to get more aggressive."

The rise of Robinson, and to some extent Withey, mimics the rise of Kansas this season.

Neither played significant minutes last year ? Robinson had trouble cracking the lineup, Withey was an afterthought. Neither showed up on major early season watch lists, and neither had the kind of imposing post presence they've established over the past five months.

Meanwhile, Kansas was picked as co-favorite in the Big 12 almost by default, though whispers had grown louder that perhaps this would be the year the Jayhawks finally slipped. They had lost a bevy of talent to the NBA. When a trio of recruits failed to qualify academically, it left a team that was supposedly short on talent even shorter of depth.

Bill Self even recalled a visit by former NBA coaches Jeff Van Gundy and Larry Brown ? who, incidentally, won a title for the Jayhawks ? early in the year. Brown watched the team practice without Robinson and thought Kansas would be fortunate to win 15 games this season.

"I think he's amazed at how far this team has come," Self said.

The 6-foot-8 Robinson and 7-foot Withey are the biggest reasons why.

Robinson has evolved into the dominating post presence that Self hoped for when he chose the Jayhawks over overtures from Memphis a few years ago. In fact, Robinson has in many ways eclipsed the expectations of a coach who is rarely content shy of perfection.

"He only played 14 minutes a game (last season), but we still thought he could be an all-league-type guy," Self said. "He had to realize what he wanted. He saw basketball as a safe haven and an avenue to help his family more than anything else he could do."

Robinson's back story has become part of his very fabric: He lost both of his grandparents along with his mother during a devastating stretch late last season, leaving his younger sister as the only significant family member still in his life.

"Regardless of whether he plays well or not, I don't think anyone in our program ever questions how much admiration and respect we had for him," Self said. "If it was me, I would stay in bed and pull the covers over my head and hope time passed, and he's totally different.

"He had to attack life."

He's certainly attacked it on the court.

The first unanimous first-team All-American since Blake Griffin in 2009, Robinson already has set the single-season school record with 26 double-doubles. He's averaging nearly 18 points and 12 rebounds per game, and always seems to be at his best when the opponent demands it.

"I'm lucky I get to go against T-Rob every day in practice," said Withey, who has used every elbow he's taken from his bruising teammate to toughen up his own game.

It's not as though Withey was overlooked coming out of high school. The kid from California at one point committed to Rick Pitino and Louisville, which plays Kentucky in the other national semifinal Saturday night, before switching his allegiance to Arizona to be closer to home.

Wildcats coach Lute Olson soon retired, and Withey went looking yet again.

He settled on Kansas, even though he knew he'd be stuck behind a bunch of big men. He was willing to bide his time while Cole Aldrich and the Morris twins headed to the NBA, and has become one of the Jayhawks' most important pieces after rarely playing a season ago.

"Jeff is one of those kids that is kind of laid-back," Self said with a smile. "I don't think he realizes how important he is to us sometimes."

It's become evident in the NCAA tournament.

Withey nearly set the single-game record by swatting 10 shots against North Carolina State last weekend, and then came up with two critical blocks in the closing minutes to help Kansas slip by North Carolina and reach the Final Four for the first time since winning the 2008 title.

"This tournament is an awesome opportunity for a lot of people that didn't have a chance to show their skills during the regular season to have a chance," Withey said. "There are a lot of great guys playing and to be able to go against guys like that makes me more excited to play."

Fat Cats Aren't Just Adorable, But Actually A Health Hazard ...

Fat-CatsObesity is not only pertinent for humans, it seems though there is another living creature that has to the same situation going for them. Till date, this was one of the features that brought humans so close to them. Cats are more often termed as adorable when they are downy. Fluffy is a word that has been associated with the cats for a long time. But now it seems it has become a contentious issue regarding their health. The worrisome news is not only about cats but it has been found that there might be six million pets across the country suffering from obesity. This includes cats, dogs, and many other pets.

According to the veterinary charity PDSA, there are over 33% dogs in the country that are overweight, while 25% cats have those extra pounds in them. The situation grows worse as nearly 84% of the owners of these pets have no idea that their fluffy pets are in fact obese and suffering from diabetes and in some pets their paws are racked with arthritis.

When asked, some of the owners just take the situation very gently. One of the owners whose cat weighed one stone five pounds jokingly said, although he is fluffy and lazy, he is also really adorable.

The people have just forgotten that their pets also need a healthy lifestyle. Instead they pamper them with delights as well as luxurious items. The in turn envelopes them into laziness which them vulnerable to diseases like obesity, diabetes. If people can?t maintain their own healthy life style, it is very difficult to expect them to do the same for their pets. There has to be awareness among owner so that they keep an eye on their pet?s health concerns.

Bank of America CEO made $8.1 million in 2011

Bank of America Corp Chief Executive Officer Brian Moynihan made $8.1 million in total compensation last year, more than four times the $1.9 million he received in 2010, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday.

But the CEO of the second-largest U.S. bank made less than some of his CEO peers at other major banks ? and less than three other Bank of America officers.

Moynihan's 2011 pay included $6.1 million in performance-based stock that would vest only if the bank were to meet a return on assets measure by the end of 2015. His total compensation also counted $950,000 in salary, $604,698 from a change in pension value and deferred compensation and $420,524 in other compensation, largely related to his use of corporate aircraft.

Moynihan received no cash bonus.

In 2011, Bank of America shares fell 58 percent as investors worried about the company's need for more capital to absorb mortgage-related losses and meet new international capital standards. Those concerns have eased after the bank passed the Federal Reserve's stress test in March, and the stock has climbed more than 70 percent this year.

Bank of America, though, still faces questions about its ability to generate earnings growth and about potential mortgage-related losses from its 2008 Countrywide Financial acquisition. The bank posted net income applicable to common stock holders of $85 million in 2011, its first profit in two years under Moynihan's leadership.

Under SEC guidelines, Moynihan's $6.1 million in stock grants were counted in his 2011 compensation because they were awarded during the calender year, but they were actually granted at the beginning of the year for his 2010 performance. The performance-based stock could have a maximum value of $9.2 million, but the bank assumed that only two-thirds of the shares would actually vest in determining the value reported to the SEC, according to the proxy.

In February of this year, the bank awarded Moynihan shares worth $6.1 million for his 2011 performance. About $4.1 million of those shares were performance-based, while the rest will vest in 12 monthly portions and be paid out in cash. Those shares will be counted in next year's proxy.

Moynihan made less than the leaders of other large U.S. banks in 2011. Wells Fargo & Co CEO John Stumpf's total 2011 compensation rose about 5 percent to $19.8 million. Citigroup Inc CEO Vickram Pandit made $14.9 million in 2011, up from a nominal $1 in 2010. JPMorgan Chase & Co hasn't filed its proxy containing executive compensation details.

At Bank of America, three of the five other executives listed in Wednesday's proxy filing also made more money than Moynihan: Co-Chief Operating Officer Tom Montag ($14.3 million), Chief Financial Officer Bruce Thompson ($11.1 million) and Co-Chief Operating Officer David Darnell ($8.4 million). Chief Legal Officer Gary Lynch, who joined the company in July, made $7.3 million, while Vice Chairman Chuck Noski, who gave up his CFO position in June, made $6.4 million.

The proxy also disclosed that Bank of America nominated director Virgis Colbert for re-election, even though he has reached the age of 72. The company's guidelines say directors who reach that age should not be nominated unless it is in the "best interests" of the company, according to the filing. Twelve directors will be up for election at the bank's May 9 shareholder meeting, after the previously announced retirement of board member Paul Jones.

Michael Smerconish: Tale of the Trayvon Martin Case 911 Calls

Pending the outcome of some voice analysis, there is arguably enough evidence in the 911 tapes to warrant the arrest of George Zimmerman in connection with the Feb. 26 shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. The voice testing is needed to determine if Zimmerman uttered a racial slur while in pursuit of Martin, and which of the two can be heard crying out for help during their altercation in Sanford, Fla.

Here are seven observations about Zimmerman's 911 call to police, and one point about the neighbors' calls:

First, Zimmerman began his call by saying, "We've had some break-ins in my neighborhood." I'd like to know if that is true. And it strikes me as peculiar that he did not identify himself immediately. The Orlando Sentinel reports that, in the last 15 months, Zimmerman had called the Sanford police 46 times. So why not begin this latest call by saying, "Hey, it's me, George Zimmerman, from the neighborhood watch?" Wouldn't a neighborhood watch volunteer want the police to know who he was? If not, why not?

Second, he never offered anything concrete to justify a request for police assistance. He first told the police operator that the teen he was watching is "a real suspicious guy." Then he said he "looks like he's up to no good, or he's on drugs, or something." Well, what exactly was it about Martin that raised Zimmerman's suspicions? "It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about," he said. But walking in the rain with your eyes open isn't by itself nefarious. Maybe that's why Zimmerman then took it up a notch.

Third, having offered a litany of nonspecific concerns, Zimmerman calmly tried to portray Martin as an aggressor: "He's just staring, looking at all the houses. Now just staring at me." That was followed by: "Now he's coming toward me." Then, the more menacing: "He's got his hand in his waist band." Finally: "Something's wrong with him. Yup, he's coming to check me out. He's got something in his hands, I don't know what his deal is."

Fourth, Zimmerman seeks a form of complicity from the operator that was not reciprocated. He mutters, "These a-, they always get away." To his credit, the operator did not react. Instead, he continued to solicit locational information from Zimmerman.

Fifth, Zimmerman seems to make a racist statement. After he reports that "he's running," the door to his truck can be heard opening. If Martin were running, that is hardly the behavior of a confrontational individual against whom deadly force need be used. And the blogosphere is on fire with conjecture that Zimmerman called Martin a "coon." I raised the audio of that part of the tape, and it sure sounds like he said that. If it's confirmed, that statement alone should provide sufficient probable cause to indict Zimmerman for a hate crime.

Sixth, Zimmerman ignores the operator's advice. After he departs from his truck to pursue Martin, Zimmerman's breathing is audibly labored. The operator hears that, and asks, "Are you following him?" Zimmerman replies, "Yep." The operator responds: "We don't need you to do that." This would seemingly have been another natural opportunity for Zimmerman to say, "I'm a neighborhood watch volunteer." Instead, he softly says, "OK." Then, the continued sound of his breathing suggests he was still pursuing Martin.

Seventh, Zimmerman was willing to report his name and phone number, but strangely stopped short when asked for his address. Asked if he lived in the area, he again said nothing of his neighborhood watch role. He gave part of his address, and then stopped. He said, "Oh, crap, I don't want to give it out loud, I don't know where this kid is at." Instead, he tells the operator to have the police who arrive on the scene to "call me and I'll tell them where I'm at."

Then there are the calls from neighbors who heard the ensuing altercation. Florida law provides that there is no duty to retreat so long as the person using deadly force "reasonably believes that such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself." On at least one of the 911 calls logged by neighbors, a man is heard crying in distress just before the fatal gunshot is audible. Who was it, Zimmerman or Martin?

If a voice analysis shows it to be Zimmerman, that will suggest he was justified in using deadly force, that he was crying for help and restraining himself before drawing his gun.

If, however, it is Martin crying out for help, Zimmerman's ability to cloak himself in "stand your ground" will evaporate, and that identification will appropriately lead to his arrest.

Gold Loan: Banks or NBFCs? | Fixed Deposit, Mutual Funds ...

With the recent notification of RBI?(Reserve Bank of India)?about limiting Non Banking Financial Companies (NBFC) to provide Gold Loan up to 60% of value of Gold Jewellary, it seems now rules of the game would be rewritten.

Gold Loan - Banks or NBFCs

Now, banks might turn out to be better option for Gold Loan borrowers due to following reasons:

  1. NBFCs can offer 60% of value of Gold Jewellary while Banks offer almost 90% of value of Gold Jewellary. So for borrowing one lakh you would need to pledge 44 grams gold (at Rs 2,500/gram) with banks while with gold loan NBFCs you would need to pledge minimum of 66.5 grams of gold (at same the rate for gold).
  2. Banks charge a lower rate of interest on the loan. NBFCs like Muthoot Finance and Mannapuram Finance charge between 12% ? 25% depending on your credit history. On the other hand, banks like Central Bank and HDFC Bank charge in the range of 12% ? 16%.
  3. The rate at which the bankers value gold does not change dynamically with the change in market price of gold. They are revised generally on a monthly or a weekly basis.

But NBFCs gain when it comes to loan processing time, processing fees and flexibility in duration of the loan.

For processing a gold loan request, banks charge around 1% of the loan value as processing charges?and in some cases borrowers face an additional charge under stamp duty and assayer charges. Gold finance companies however have a very nominal processing charge and this again is a fixed amount and doesn?t vary with value of the loan. At Manappuram Finance for instance the processing fee is Rs 8 and from the second month of the loan the borrower is levied Rs 2 as renewal fee in addition to the interest.

Banks also take a relatively longer time to process a gold loan. This is generally because of the additional paper work and sometimes because of certain procedural delays and glitches at the back-end.

So now it?s you to decide what you want!

if you are looking for higher value of gold loan at lower interest rate bank might be a good option but if you want a more flexible approach with faster processing time NBFCs would be a better option.
