Texas A&M?s Elston Turner was just third player to ever hit 40-point mark at Kentucky

Texas A&M senior guard Elston Turner?s 40-point splurge Saturday in A&M?s 83-71 win at Kentucky made him just the third opposing player to reach the 40-point mark against the Wildcats at Rupp Arena.

Turner joined LSU?s Chris Jackson (41, 1990) and Navy?s David Robinson (45, 1985). He was the first Aggie to score 40 points since Don Marbury did so against Baylor in 1985.

A&M (12-3, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) returns to league play by hosting No. 10 Florida at 6 p.m. Thursday (ESPN2).

?He said there was something different about that game,? Turner said of a postgame conversation with his father, Elston Turner Sr., a former NBA player. ?He told me that whatever I did in that game needed to happen again.?
